OH HAI
Hey,
Been finding myself in a lot of museums lately, which isn't a bad thing. Thought I would share the best things in each place .....
02/07/2010
- V&A: Saw Quilts exhibition.
BEST BIT: the tumbling blocks
- Science Museum: Just walking about. Not too hot for it.
BEST BIT: The Maths gallery, had some good shapes going down.
03/07/2010
- RCA Show: Just nosing around all the MA work
BEST BIT: The cabinent full of cars over time and textille work by Emily Jayne Barnard
- V&A (again): pottering about
BEST BIT: The new cabinets in ceramics on the top floor (definitely worth checking out) and the "Book tower" as part of the 1:1 Architecture exhibition
- Serpentine Gallery: Errr, was photos by some bloke. Not too sure about them
BEST BIT: The book shop, has the best selection of magazines
05/07/2010
- Tate Britain: with my sister, I wanted to sketch so we went there
BEST BIT: The tudor galleries, they had bigggg hair!
- National Portrait Gallery: Only had 15 minutes here before closing so it was a brief affair
BEST BIT: The Alex Katz exhibition. I loved the Anna Wintour Portrait and the painting of all his friends heads (*must see)
06/07/2010
- Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood: A fave of my sister and I. Looked at the furniture exhibition and then the rest of the top floor.
BEST BIT: By farrrr the doll houses - love it!
And that is all ..... so far! Hoping to squeeze in the Wallace Collection and the Maison Martin Margeilla Show (@Somerset House) this week.
Would definetly reccommend going to any of the above, apart from the Science Museum because it is a bit shit.
Laterz
