MONDAY

These photos have been lying around in iphoto forever so I thought I would put them to use.

Basically me and KC (who did this fabulous summer illustration for the zine) decided to take snaps of people wearing the same outfit last summer at Underage Fest. No surprise at all, but the tee did come from Topshop. However, I do like the way they all style it out differently (and check out the HP fabric on the second skirt!)
I think the moral of todays lesson is very obvious!

THURSDAY

OH HAI
Hey,
Been finding myself in a lot of museums lately, which isn't a bad thing. Thought I would share the best things in each place .....

02/07/2010
- V&A: Saw Quilts exhibition.
BEST BIT: the tumbling blocks
- Science Museum: Just walking about. Not too hot for it.
BEST BIT: The Maths gallery, had some good shapes going down.

03/07/2010
- RCA Show: Just nosing around all the MA work
BEST BIT: The cabinent full of cars over time and textille work by Emily Jayne Barnard
- V&A (again): pottering about
BEST BIT: The new cabinets in ceramics on the top floor (definitely worth checking out) and the "Book tower" as part of the 1:1 Architecture exhibition
- Serpentine Gallery: Errr, was photos by some bloke. Not too sure about them
BEST BIT: The book shop, has the best selection of magazines

05/07/2010
- Tate Britain: with my sister, I wanted to sketch so we went there
BEST BIT: The tudor galleries, they had bigggg hair!
- National Portrait Gallery: Only had 15 minutes here before closing so it was a brief affair
BEST BIT: The Alex Katz exhibition. I loved the Anna Wintour Portrait and the painting of all his friends heads (*must see)

06/07/2010
- Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood: A fave of my sister and I. Looked at the furniture exhibition and then the rest of the top floor.
BEST BIT: By farrrr the doll houses - love it!

And that is all ..... so far! Hoping to squeeze in the Wallace Collection and the Maison Martin Margeilla Show (@Somerset House) this week.
Would definetly reccommend going to any of the above, apart from the Science Museum because it is a bit shit.

THURSDAY

This is a very muddled post.
Gonna get the blog backonform.
So check back every other day or something.
Finally on summer. Ace.

Sooo .... this evening I just took some photos of stuff in my room that interests me and that I think you would like to hear about.

Over the past month, I attacked an old purse my sister gave me. Covered in beads from our old necklaces. Love how tacky and garish it looks. Decided to go for something more delicate on the otherside but it is taking forbloodyever. Persistence is needed.

Errr, so are you a bit excited???? Issue//16 will be printed nextweek for you to get your filthylittlemitts on, shall be supersweet. (I hope!)

This magazine is superb. I may not be a "gentlewoman" but this mag is not offensive at all, it is ohso sophisticated. I especially love the "tall and short" editorial. Not 100% sure if its worth the fiver, personally I would rather spend that on sweets and guava juice - but if I was a  real gentlewoman, it would be utterly justifiable.

Tack from my room.

Found this mysterious 7" in my record box. Think I only bought it for the cover. Played it. Now love it. Definitely one to Spotify.

A disgustingly tacky snake bracelet purchased from Primark. Haven't yet decided if it's fantasticallygood  or fantasticallybad. Hmmmm

Too much junk.

Love moleskines. Been rather inspired by Charlotte Lucy who has awesome notebooks. I'm trying a similar page a day thing.   Sooo excited about starting art foundation in September. Been set summer vacation project already, my teeth will be in it soon.

If you have read this far.
Well done.
Hope you have a smashing evening.

Over and out.

ps. Have been re-reading "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 and 3/4" this week. Forgot how golden it is.
