PICK ME UP before you go-go!
(sorry couldn't resist it, at all.)
Yep,
Pick Me Up is still on at Somerset House until Sunday. But in case you don't get a chance to go I thought I would share some of my finds with you.
Beautiful collages by Seiko Kata, just so adorable.
some drawings
This year Anthony Burrill was the big headliner. He had a fantastic room with unlimited photocopy access, loadsa paper and glue and stuff - was pretty zine happy. Here's the zine Maya and I made last week - it's a bit printed upside down - but who cares!
The space was filled with lots of Burrill prints and this brilliant painting that he did when he was seventeen, which I thought was ace.
Nobrow were also there, still making the most lusty illustrations ever. There were sooo many gorgeous publications and it was super hard to chose which one to get but I settled for this cheeky number by Atak & Gertrude Stein.
Also got some cheeky Nobrow postcards, there was a third one but I sent it to Amelia.
Talking of Amelia, some of her super cool
Dooby Dolls were also there in the Jaguar Shoes room.
Now everyone loves freezines and
Puck Collective did not fail to disappoint on that front.
The guys were making a zine everyday (put in candy striped bags) and I've got a tiny collection with the help of my Mum. Like Jez Burrows, they are totally loved up on their Gocco printers - bit jealous to be honest.
Finally, got Jim Stoten zine which is sooo sick called "The Naughty Hen Song" , definitely gonna be this weekend's bedtime reading.
Yep, I think I have gone on about this for long enough and you probs get the jist that its really cool and you should certainly go by Sunday!
Awesome
Enjoy the sun
