zinewatch: This Is It

This is a supersick zine I got two years ago (I think) from the 3rd year Kingston illustration show at Shoreditch Old Town Hall. I still remember how epic a show it was. When I bought this zine I didn't really look at it, but I was looking at it a few months ago and it came to my attention that loads of my current faves such as Rose Blake and Mike Perry are in it ...

So I did a little research and This is it have now formed a collective..

You will most probably recognise this epic short they made called "Bad Things That could happen"

What a cool gang

MONDAY

happy bank holiday innit
On Saturday, my sis and I had a super weird moment. We were meeting at Kings Cross to go to Rye and turned up unplanned wearing identical shades of corduroy despite her's being from Gap and mine American Apparel (probs run from the same factory, but I'm convinced that most things are made in the same factory!)
WEIRD!

Here is a cool painting of some sisters also wearing matching shades.
I think it's a "sista thang"

MONDAY

This is an epic dress made by Alex who was on foundation with me (writing in past tense is so odd), the pleats she made were epic. We took the photographs in the renaissance galleries in the v+a.

FRIDAY

Heyyy hope you are having a siccckk Friday.
It is no lie that I am totally addicted to dipdabs, to the extent that I'm currently "on a break" from them. Been drooling over BLEACH London sooo much lately. But last week I dip(dab)dyed my hair, which was pretty exciting (my friend Maya attempted to go purple...).  Super exciting as I never do anything to my hair, I've never even had it cut in a hair salon before, shocking right?
Would be cooler if it looked more like Beyonce though ....

Plus how rad is this costume???? She is soo gonna pull hahaha

THURSDAY

Ok, I thought I would share the most mental thing in my wardrobe. I bought this pair of trousers last summer (or maybe the summer before...) from the Vintage Warehouse in Nottingham for a fiver. I think the beads on the trousers are probably worth more than five pounds alone! But the problem is I don't have a clue what to wear them with because they are sooooo heavy and also they make a jingly noise when you walk (which I imagine would be really cool on the dance floor!). Hmmm ... thinking of cutting them into shorts and maybe making something out of the scraps ... any suggestions???

Also very reminiscent of Pearly Kings and Queens ...

Sometimes I prefer photographing things rather than people.
Don't know why, less easy to be offensive right?
